From what I've read <a href="http://www.suanie.net/about/" rel="nofollow">here</a>, it was ST who helped Suanie start up a "proper" blog using BBlog. One thing I like about WP is that it can be as simple or as complex as you want. Furthermore, it has excellent features for SEO (nice link structure, XHTML compliant core, etc.). It also has lots of plugins to expand the usability of WP beyond blogging alone. From what I've seen of BBlog, WP is without a doubt, far more superior.
