DOSBox 0.65 Released

After two and a half years, there’s finally a new release of DOSBox. For those of you who’re not familiar with it, DOSBox is an open source DOS emulator for various OS platforms.

I used DOSBox to play old abandonware games from the 80s under Linux. Note the word used. It’s been ages since I played them, but I guess it’s time to restart this hobby. Other than games, you can even use it to run the good old DOS apps you used to use when you still haven’t grown pubic hair. Remember Lotus 1-2-3, WordStar and Harvard Graphics? Yep, it’s possible with DOSBox, provided you still have them disks 😉

Only one response to “DOSBox 0.65 Released” so far.

I can remember BEFORE Lotus 1-2-3. Lotus had a spreadsheet package called Sympnoy. I used to work in that and program macros etc.

    I’m old! lol

Anyway, I downloaded a heap of abandonware for my brother and a DOS emulator. He often pulls out old games to play. 🙂

I also downloaded a C64 emulator and some abandoned games as well as an Atari Emulator. Funny thing is, I saw them advertising an old Atari type machine on TV for a few hundred dollars. I laughes as the games are all so retro, and stuff. 🙂
