There’s a wide range of web sites on the subject of composing business plans. Nevertheless, it’s very rare to find one that’s easy to digest and includes a few nicely done examples as well.
While scouring the net, I stumbled upon Starting a Business - Business Plans, by RBC Royal Bank.
What I like about this write-up:
- It’s written for the layman, ie. without all the financial and MBA-esque mumbo-jumbo
- It’s written by a decision maker. You get first-hand information from a bank, one of the potential financier for your business
- The write-up includes three examples covering different business areas, markets and loan amount
- Saving the best for last; it incorporates the Big Idea behind a business plan into seven key sections
This is definitely recommended reading for those who are starting or planning to start a business.
