Tuned 1.5 Preview Screenshots

I’ve been working on Tuned 1.5 since Sunday, and it’s coming along quite nicely. The overall template is based on the theme that you’re currently seeing on HTNet, except for the following changes:

  1. Uses a fixed width of 960 pixels
  2. Links to pages added to the header
  3. A search form is integrated in the header as well
  4. Uses a header image
  5. Has two sidebars, but when in post view, only shows the right sidebar
  6. Some other minor modifications that I can’t remember now

If development goes according to plan, then this theme will be released within a week from now.

This is how the header looks like at present (an invisible mouse cursor is hovering over the WordPress Stuff page link):

I’m thinking of adding feed subscription links after the search box. Do you think this is a good place to have feed subscription links?

Below is how a typical post is displayed:

And here is how a page looks like:

I’m hoping to use a better header image than the one I have in the screenshot. Perhaps some of my more artistic readers can help me in this area. Care to give it a go Cindy or Criz Lai? 😉 The size I’m looking at is 960px wide by 200px tall and predominantly bluish in colour.

If you have a suitable header image that you’d like me to use in the theme, please post a link to it as a comment. If I choose your image, the theme will have a link to your blog or portfolio web site somewhere in the footer.

What do you think of Tuned 1.5? Any suggestions on improving it? I’m all ears 🙂

    papajoneh: Is it? 🙂

kucau: The only AdSense integration would be in posts, right after title. With the advent of WordPress widgets, AdSense codes could easily be placed in sidebars.

cindy: Understood from your first comment actually 🙂 I was wondering if you’d like to design a better looking header for me? 😉

In fact the header is already nice looking! Gradient background with a slanting illustration that looks like a mountain. Very nice color combination too!

I wouldn’t be able to come up with a better header if you ask me. 😀
