Kuala Lumpur, June 26, 2007 – Alcatel-Lucent (Euronext Paris and NYSE: ALU) today announced a unique, industry-first Service Routing Certification (SRC) program designed to provide IP professionals with the most advanced end-to-end knowledge transfer and skills development opportunities available today. The program is designed to equip Alcatel-Lucent customers and partners with the skills, confidence, and experience required to optimize leading-edge, high-performance standards-based IP networks and to realize their company’s business goals.
The response from Alcatel-Lucent customers to the new program has been immediate and positive, especially as the certification is elevated to a service and architecture level.
“We are pleased with the leadership Alcatel-Lucent is showing in IP training and network knowledge transfer,” said Fraser Pajak, vice-president, National Network Assurance & Project Management Office, TELUS. “The SR Certification program courses are of high quality and supported with excellent practical labs. TELUS uses this training as part of our comprehensive strategy to introduce and manage our innovative suite of IP services in order to meet and exceed customer expectations.”
The SRC Program reflects a commitment by Alcatel-Lucent to help its customers stay at the forefront of emerging technologies for fixed and mobile business VPN and residential triple play services, particularly in areas that Alcatel-Lucent has pioneered such as Quality of Service and High Availability in IP networks.
“The Alcatel-Lucent SRC Program is a response to the next wave of IP innovation and the need for highly skilled professionals with an in-depth understanding of service routing, especially with the addition of services such as triple play which create an entirely new set of networking architectural and operational challenges,” said Basil Alwan, president of Alcatel-Lucent’s IP activities. “This comprehensive program enables us to transfer real world experience and specialized knowledge to ensure the success of our customers’ service routing networks. In addition, through SRC we are creating a new global community of service routing professionals who can more easily exchange ideas and stay abreast of the rapid technological changes that are transforming today’s networks.”
A diversified team consisting of Alcatel-Lucent’s most experienced engineers and subject matter experts and advanced technology educators pooled their talents to create three distinct certifications within the SRC program. These certifications create an exceptional professional development path for IP professionals who are involved with building and operating the next-generation of service-driven networks.
The three certifications available immediately are:
- Alcatel-Lucent Network Routing Specialists (NRS)
- Alcatel-Lucent Triple Play Routing Professional (3RP)
- Alcatel-Lucent Service Routing Architect (SRA)
Each certification consists of courses that include an intensive combination of hands-on lab activity and coursework. Exams are available to test the knowledge requirements associated with each certification. Each course is led by an Alcatel-Lucent certified expert who is directly involved with development of the service routing products.
The groundbreaking IP professional development program is now being offered globally at Alcatel-Lucent’s facilities in the U.S., Canada, Belgium, and China and more than 3200 test centers around the world. For more information visit: www.alcatel-lucent.com/src.
