The thing is people often forget that the cost of data storage devices have become lower over the years.

Personally, I think that's the only downside to email becoming a more integral part of net communications.

However, with the massive improvement in quality as well as ever lowering dollar per megabyte costs of storage, this problem might soon become a thing of the past.

Kind of funny when looking back, my first ever email account had a 100MB quota limit.

How things change, eh? ;)

If emails providers goes kaput, I will also be in deep problems. All my business deals and quotes goes through emails for faster decisions by clients. I even set everything to be LIVE so that I would not missed out any important emails. Emails have become part of my life. Without them, things will be in a slower process.

mine not even 0%.. only 13MB usage. With Azmeen suggestion, backing up and uploading it to gmail, Im sure its going to be my most useful tool, next after my firefox.

To answer the question, yes email will definitely not die but evolving to a much better tool for all users. :)

It's the first thing I check when waking up and the last thing I check before sleeping too.
I even reached 100% on my Gmail recently! I'm sure e-mail will be more interesting and interactive. I think Google folks will start that revolution.
