BlogRush: MLM Style Web Traffic Generator?

UPDATE: I am no longer recommending BlogRush as a source of blog traffic. After using it for more than a month, I can conclude that BlogRush is a total failure.

I’m no fan of MLM, because I honestly think that it’s just a nicer name for a pyramid scheme.

Strangely, MLM was the first thing that came to my mind when I read about BlogRush. Why? Well, mostly due to language such as this (quoting the latest update from my BlogRush dashboard):

In our video we mentioned that you earn a 1:1 ratio of syndication credits on your own traffic, and any direct referral’s traffic (such as “Bob” in the example video) and any direct referral’s referral traffic (yes, that sounds confusing!) such as “Jen” in our example. We also mentioned that you’d also earn credits based on activity through 10 generation levels. Here’s the breakdown of our formula:

Your Traffic = 1:1 1st Generation Of Referrals (Directly From You) = 1:1 2nd Generation Of Referrals (i.e. Jen in the video) = 1:1 3rd – 6th Generation Of Referrals = 1:4 7th – 10th Generation Of Referrals = 1:8

1:1 means you earn 1 syndication credit for every 1 impression of the widget by your own traffic or by any users located on the 1st (direct) or 2nd generations. 1:4 means you earn 1 syndication credit for every 4 impressions of the widget by any user located on the 3rd to 6th generations. 1:8 means you earn 1 syndication credit for every 8 impressions of the widget by any user located on the 7th to 10th generations.

Woohoo! Payout ratio confusion at its finest. Well, actually, I’m just joking there.

The program is pretty much easy to understand. To put it simply, the more your BlogRush widget gets displayed, the more your links will be displayed on other BlogRush member sites. So essentially it’s a numbers game that will benefit blogs with higher readership. But the good thing is, it’s still in its infancy and you can improve your display stats via referrals.

I’m going to give BlogRush a whirl on HTNet for a couple of weeks to see if it could indeed provide me with significant additional traffic. There’s no harm in trying, right? Come on, join the ride as well! What have you got to lose?

This is interesting…I’ll need to somehow improve my traffic since I was handicapped for the past one month plus. I do hope this will help me boost up the traffic.

This Blog was right on target. Kudos to the writer. I think that the only true way for any of us to really reach our business goals, and goals in life for that matter, is by coming together as community and helping one another. The power of community is remarkable. By being part of one that consistently contributes information to one another you multiply your efforts by tenfold. The saying it “ it takes a village” applies to more than just raising children. I for one love nothing more than to help someone get one step closer to reaching their dreams. It gives me a sense of contribution that makes feel OK about staying up long hours day and night researching the latest techniques and tricks to have a successful business and draw people to it.
