After moving HTNet to my new dedicated server, I needed to find out whether the domain has correctly pointed to the IP address of my the server. I was scouring the web for a tool that would help me query a few DNS servers around the world and report to me what they think is the IP address for my domain.
I soon found Ted’s NS Lookup Gateway, which is part of his Web Tools. The tool description states that it queries 15 major US nameservers and several foreign nameservers as well.
So, the next time you’re switching servers and wondering how your DNS is resolving across the globe, don’t forget to use this tool!
Now back to monitoring my servers… by the way, I just got a call from a friend who’s having an issue with his AS/400. It seems that it has a faulty memory module. Finding a local vendor who has it in stock seems near impossible, so I recommended that he visit this IBM memory section on MemoryStore.com.
