		<description>When I did my Senior First Aid certificate one of the girls on the course told us about how she'd mistaken her father's super glue for eye drops and accidentally superglued her eye lid to her eye ball!  [Yes, it was painful].
She got raced to the hospital where she discovered that it is an apparent common accident.

I knew those stories except didn't realise Penicillin was accidental as Flemming is always credited so much with it's discovery and 'accidental' is never used in the same sentence.
I heard that Microwaves were actually part of the US army's attempts trying to produce a device to kill the enemy with radio waves.  They seem to have missed that part of the story ... or that parts an urban myth.
The potato chip story I've heard so many times I'm almost sick of hearing it.  :-)</description>
