I’ve always been an admirer of Datuk Shahrir Samad. I believe he epitomizes the die hard spirit of Johoreans. He’s been through so many negative experiences but time and time again he rises from the ashes. He’ll always be a phoenix in my book.
Due to my utmost respect for Datuk Shahrir (who also happens to be my MP – Johor Bahru), I am very pleased to have learned that he’s now Malaysia’s new Minister of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs (KPDNHEP).
I’ve experienced the inefficiency of KPDNHEP first hand after being scammed by a scratch and win syndicate. KPDNHEP handled the situation pretty badly. Although I won the claim, the process of obtaining the sum from the scammers (Welley Corporation Sdn Bhd) was very time consuming. However, I’m among the lucky ones as there were many others who never did get their money back.
If there is one person that I would like to take the helm of KPDNHEP from the BN side of the political divide; it would definitely be Datuk Shahrir. I believe that he has the passion, capabilities and especially the will to get the job done.
To make things better, Penang – where the scamming HQ of Welley Corporation is located, is now under Opposition rule. I’m pretty sure all the cables that this scamming operation has established there earlier would be rendered useless.
Let’s hope that Datuk Shahrir and Penang CM Lim Guan Eng can work together to eradicate these scamming scums of Malaysia. I wish them both all the best in carrying out their new responsibilities.
