Embarking On An Exciting Journey

For my entire working life, I have been building, maintaining and deploying IT solutions for other people. For a huge portion of that time, these people belong to the organizations employing me. I’ve gotten to know many, many wonderful people during this time and I have no doubt in my mind that I’ll continue meeting more wonderful people for decades to come.

Nevertheless, the time has come for me to face up to my weaknesses in close combat. It’s time I throw away the crutches that have helped me progress this far but have probably been limiting me from understanding and exploring my full potential.

I’ve made up my mind and decide to forever embed this moment for eternity in this blog post. I don’t know what’s lurking out there, but I sure as hell know that it will be one wicked adventure. But as the old saying goes; A journey of a thousand miles begins with the first step.

I’ll be taking that first step towards my journey. A journey called entrepreneurship.

Yes, I will be running a business full swing. The journey begins August 2008. I’ll be tendering my resignation on the first day of the month. Before the end of that month, I’ll be put in a new role as a full-time business owner without the crutches of a salaried job.

Isn’t it scary? You have no idea! A million thoughts rush through my mind when I’ve committed myself to doing it. Some more gut wrenching than others. Others affirmed my decision to take the plunge.

However, those who know me will undeniably recognize that Azmeen Afandi is always about beating the odds. I’m absolutely certain that I will do it again, and this time I’m bringing along backups in the form of a gifted and hardworking partner and a mentor who I look up to like a big brother. We will kick ass and you’ll be reading our success stories regularly; of that I’m certain.

To friends like Joneh, Dr Yusri and Barbara who are already my dearest customers… you’ll get unprecedented levels of business relations that can only get better. Thank you for providing me with that extra boost and pushing me onwards.

I ask for your prayers and well wishes to spur me towards success.

Wow! This is totally came as a real tsunami shock to me! You beat me on this matter. I’ve been playing with this decision for quite sometimes and even forcing myself to just go for it.
I wanna talk more why I (for now) will not pursue this but it will take pages of scrolling down so enough for me to just wish you all the very best in everything you do. I am sure with the clear mission you’ve developed before reaching such daring decision, will only give strength and success to you.

All the best, my friend. 🙂

papajoneh: Tsunami? I don’t think it’s so dramatic 🙂 Thanks for the well wishes. I really appreciate it!

kucau: Odd? You bet it is. But the opposite of odd is average (a.k.a. mediocre). I think I got to give leaving mediocrity a shot. Thanks for your support!

Dabido: How can I forget those who’ve supported me 🙂 Thanks for the well wishes.

mommy to chumsy: Awww… your comment made my heart melt. Thank you for your well wishes (and forthcoming recommendations 😉 )
