EC-Council Receives NICF and CITREP Endorsement


SINGAPORE, October 16, 2008 – EC-Council, the worlds’ leading e-business and security certification organization, today announced that its’ Certified Ethical Hacker certification (C|EH) and Computer Hacking Forensic Investigator (C|HFI) programs have been accepted into National Infocomm Competency Framework (NICF) Infocomm professionals competency requirement list.

In addition to the inclusion, Infocomm professionals training to be certified for the EC-Council programs at NICF accredited training centers, will be entitled to receive partial funding from Critical Infocomm Technology Resource Program (CITREP) upon certification completion.

“Knowledge continues to play a major role in ensuring the success of businesses worldwide. NICF’s endorsement of the C|EH and C|HFI programs are in line with its goal to create a niche workforce that will enhance and pioneer industries to increase Singapore’s economic and international credibility,” explained EC-Council President Mr Jay Bavisi.

“With the EC-Council certifications on board the NICF, we hope a more secure online interface is made available to economic ventures in Singapore. Furthermore the CITREP funding allocated for these courses’ are set to boost corporations and individuals interests to pursue these skills to ensure they have the right skills to remain competitive amongst global leaders,” adds Jay.

C|EH certifies individuals in the specific network security discipline of Ethical Hacking from a vendor-neutral perspective. A certified Ethical Hacker is a skilled professional who is able to identify the weakness of a system using the same knowledge and tools as a malicious hacker.

C|HFI provides the skills to identify an intruder’s footprints and properly gather the necessary evidence to prosecute the culprit in the court of law. With the help of computer investigation together with analysis techniques, certified users are able to prevent future attacks.

NICF determines the skills and competencies; and develops training strategies for infocomm professionals to build a niche infocomm workforce in Singapore. CITREP is a training incentive program that assists infocomm professionals with funding to gain recognized and specialized skills.

EC-Council certification programs are offered at over 400 active authorized training centers across 60 nations, as well as being incorporated into the curriculums of selected universities and institutions across the world.
