Yahoo! Pipes is an interactive feed aggregator and manipulation tool. It can combine, filter and sort multiple feed data and spit out a single customized feed that you can use for yourself or share with others.

Before today, JSON has been the only way for you to obtain the output data of a Pipe. Now, Yahoo! has provided a second way to do this: serialized PHP.

I’m sure those who are more proficient with PHP will find this feature very useful. Thanks Yahoo!

DailyTech published an article where a British neurosurgeon’s study concluded that mobile phones are more dangerous than smoking and even asbestos:

The number of users is the first aspect to look at, says Dr. Khurana. Over 3 billion people worldwide use a cell phone, according to Dr. Khurana. Only about one billion people worldwide smoke, evidence to his claims. The smoking population incurs approximately five million worldwide smoking related deaths a year.

The doctor expresses no uncertainty about whether cell phones cause cancer. He states emphatically, “there is a significant and increasing body of evidence for a link between mobile phone usage and certain brain tumors.”

If you’re into making money online, I’m sure you’ve been pimped a lot of ebooks, e-courses and other resources that claim to make you tons of money within a short time. If you have actually bought or subscribed to some of the resources mentioned above, I’m sure that you’d discover that some advice actually worked wonders while the rest are utter junk.

First thing’s first; it works! The next most important thing; it was a very painless process. The steps are pretty easy especially if you’ve upgraded WP before. Essentially the steps are as follows:

1. Disable all installed plugins
2. Grab the latest WordPress build; extract the contents; replace the older files on your server (or you can do this painlessly via SSH)
3. Run the upgrade script (usually at http://yourwebsite/wp-admin/upgrade.php) and wait for a couple of seconds or minutes; depending on the size of your current database
4. Login to the wp-admin page and reactivate your plugins one by one; make sure you open another tab to preview your blog while doing this, just to see if there are any complications
5. If everything goes well, it’s time to celebrate!

Please note that there’s a new configuration called SECRET_KEY in WP 2.5’s wp-config.php file. Just set it to some random string as shown below:

define('SECRET_KEY', 'lkjdfhU(H*H8h9uHF8U767f65df56t&^t^&th(jhYT6FYHBUIy*b*u3R'); // Change this to a unique phrase.

The secret key should include upper and lowercase letters, numbers and symbols. After that you need to re-login to the admin panel.
