Flashing At Pretty Ladies

One huge benefit of being a Sony Alpha DSLR user is that Sony organizes a lot of events for us. Workshops, seminars, shooting sessions; you name it, we have it… and for free! So pfftt to you Canikon peepz :P

Anyway, I had the opportunity to join one of these workshops; Sony Alpha Flash Workshop, yesterday (Saturday, 6 June 2009) at Puteri Pacific Johor Bahru. Coincidentally, yesterday was my first anniversary of being a DSLR owner. One year on and I’m still in love with my α200.

Sultan Abu Bakar Mosque

Sultan Abu Bakar Mosque is one of the most famous landmarks in Johor Bahru. Constructed between 1892 and 1900 and named after the person who commissioned it, Almarhum Sultan Abu Bakar, its architecture is influenced by Moorish design. It’s blue roofing and black tipped minarets grab the attention of many motorists plying Jalan Skudai.

Malaysia Auto Show At Persada Johor International Convention Centre

Last Sunday, I went to Persada Johor ICC primarily for checking out the last PC Fair of the year. Sad to say it was still the same old stuff being sold to the same people. As usual, the best “deals” are still limited to small peripherals like the ever present USB thumb drives.

Fortunately, there was also an auto show going on at the same time at the same venue. Although I’m not a carburettor head, at least the auto show has some machines that are worth taking photos of.

Orchids At Taman Orkid Juita

Like I’ve mentioned earlier, I went to Malaysia Flora Fest last Saturday. To be honest, there’s not a lot that interests me there. I did take some pictures of the floats, but they’re not worth shouting about. Maybe I’ll post some pictures of the floats… maybe not.

However, I did drop by Taman Orkid Juita at Danga Bay and although the orchids displayed there look plain, they’re still wonderful photography subjects. Check out some pictures I took of the orchids there.
