My Family: Malaysians

I visited a friend who just had a baby some time last week. Took a look at the babies and I noticed something that confirms what I have always thought all along; all babies look the same.

I remembered looking at my son from the newborn incubatory station. He had a few neighbours there. Two boys and three girls. I remember their faces vividly. Why? Because they all look almost identical with one another.

There were three Chinese babies and two Malay ones, including my son. But did it matter? For me, it doesn’t make the least bit of difference. DVD Sniffer Dogs Get Medals

DVD sniffer dogs, Lucky and Flo, were awarded medals from the Malaysian government for their contribution in tracking pirated DVDs:

“The dogs have proven to be a major asset in our fight against the pirates and we intend to continue what Lucky and Flo have set in motion,” S Veerasingam, Malaysia’s deputy minister for domestic trade and consumer affairs, said in the statement.

If only KPDNHEP would source for dogs that would bite the balls of scratch and win scammers next. Or perhaps, they are too busy chasing after mamak stalls that are charging 80 sen more for iced Milo.

Sometimes things like this makes me wonder what exactly are the priorities of KPDNHEP; are they really interested in protecting consumers, or are they just publicity chasers.

Malaysia 50 Years On: Time For Embracement Rather Than Tolerance

Don’t be misled by the title. Tolerance has served us well, but whether Malaysians realise it or not, the world has changed. It’s pointless to lecture on globalisation, but at the same time maintain the status quo of tolerance. It’s time for a change; and its name is embracement.
