The Week When Servers Consumed Most Of My Time

The past few days have been quite hectic for me and it’s all related to servers!

  • The database server at work suffered from a faulty processor on Awal Muharram (10th January, a public holiday in Johor) and the maintenance agreement for that particular server had expired. Luckily, it’s sorted out within a few hours and a replacement processor was installed.
  • I’ve also taken on a project to set up a Linux web server for a medical supply company which needed to be delivered by the 11th. I manage to meet the deadline and the server is up and running right now.
  • I’ve purchased a VDS to host some web sites including HTNet and there were some complications in the delivery. However, it’s all sorted now.

Touching on the last point, I’ve moved the content of HTNet onto this new server and if you’re reading this then you’re seeing the first post published on the new server :)

If you happen to find something strange when browsing HTNet, please let me know by commenting here. Thanks!

Happy New Year

2008 is finally upon us and it’s time to get things running more smoothly. Forget the holiday mood, forget the fun you had last night and let’s get serious with work and making more money :)

Here’s wishing all HTNet readers a prosperous and exciting new year!

Cleaning Up My Blogroll

I’ve been accumulating some useful links to some wonderful blogs into that sidebar area called Blogs I Read. Over the years it has grown quite long, so it’s only fitting that I do some housekeeping. I’ve decided that I’ll only leave a handful of links in there.

Effects Of New Project: Lack Of Posts

I haven’t gotten a chance to post anything for the past 24 hours. I took ownership of a small but interesting project at work and am currently building an invoice tracking system for one of the departments.

Eventhough it’s a small project, it will take me some time to complete (and this doesn’t include dry run time) because I’m the sole developer of the system. Working alone on a program can make you become sick of looking at a computer, so I’m taking some time off the computer while at home… so please forgive me for not posting as often as I usually do.

On the other hand, I’m more than happy to follow a good buddy of mine around town. Doing what? Shopping. For what? Believe it or not, wedding rings! He’s getting married in a couple of months and is still looking for that ideal symbol of lost freedom :P

My Latest Project: FastestSlimming.com

Kay Stanford Jr. Kastum, a blogging buddy of mine has inquired on the number of domains I have in my portfolio. I believe that this is something I should do… and I will start right now.

I won’t be listing all my domains in one huge list, but I will showcase one site at a time and today’s featured domain is FastestSlimming.com which is the home of my latest project; The Fastest Slimming Guide.
