Google Reader Has Search… Finally!

I was reading this post by Matt Cutts, and asked myself, “What’s he smoking? I don’t see any search form in Google Reader.”

I then closed my Google Reader tab and reopened it, and there it was; the search form that I’ve been pining for!

Finally, Google Reader is complete… at least for me. You can read more about this on the Official Google Reader Blog.

Getting Started With PHP

If I could only provide one link to the most useful PHP resource, then it will be PHP 101: PHP For the Absolute Beginner. PHP 101 is by far the best one-stop resource not only for absolute beginners, as the name implies, but also for novices and veterans of other programming languages who’re picking up PHP.

The sample projects used in this tutorial are among the most fun you’ll get on any PHP tutorials. From database usage to XML traversing, you’ll get up to speed on some of those Web 2.0 jargons ;)

Seriously though, I find PHP 101 to be a perfect example of how a Getting Started series on a programming language should be written. Do you have your own favourites?

Most bloggers who gives a hoot about SEO would want to get as many incoming links as possible. They try so many tactics, such as:

  1. Submitting to FFA sites
  2. Begging other bloggers for link exchanges
  3. Buying links from services such as TLA
  4. Some even resort to spamming

Does Text-Link-Ads.com Know Something Their Publishers Don’t?

Recently, TLA has been sending out emails to publishers notifying them of changes to their affiliate URLs. Apparently TLA is now using TinyURL’s redirecting service to replace their direct affiliate links.

According to the email, the reason for these changes are:

  • To shorten the referral URL
  • To secure the affiliate link
